2019 Program Overview

What: Celebrating the announcement of "Alexandria Love Your Pet Day" by the Mayor and City Council, local businesses will host a kick-off event, food trucks, children’s entertainment, demonstrations, and information tables along the block party route to engage the city’s pet lovers. Participants will be welcomed by elected officials and community partners then enjoy the various block party activities and events. Area non-profits, food vendors, business associations and more will take part in this lively family-friendly event.

When:  Sunday, April 28th, 2019 from 11am-3pm

Where:  Along Roth and Colvin Streets in the West End of Alexandria. This year the event kicks off in the middle of the action at the center stage.  Information tables will provide block party maps, a schedule of events, vendor and sponsor promotions, free giveaways, and more. 

Attendees: Animal lovers of all ages seeking a day out with their family, friends, and four-legged pals where they can learn about community businesses and non-profits while participating in a variety of fun activities.

Fees: $75 participation fee for Vendors
$0 participation fee for Non-Profits
$25 optional table & chair rental fee (tents not provided)

VENDOR/NON-PROFIT APPLICATIONS DUE BY MARCH 13th

Complete Form Below — you will be notified by March 23rd of your application status. Accepted vendors will then be asked to provide payment via Paypal (preferred) or check.

Policies and Procedures

  • Exhibitors may bring a 10x10 tent. Exhibit spaces are assigned based on the discretion of the event management. Sandbags or weights must be used to keep tent grounded. You may be asked to take down your tent due to wind.

  • Exhibit space is limited and event management will not reserve a location for your business until payment has been received in full.

  • For-profit exhibitors must collect and pay Virginia sales tax on all items sold.

  • Exhibitors must have someone stationed at their booth for the duration of the event.

  • The event will start at 11am and end at 3pm.

  • Set-up will begin at 10am; exhibitors must be operational no later than 10:45am. 

  • Space for loading and unloading is limited so each exhibitor will need to be prepared to move items with dollies or handcarts as needed.

  • Exhibitors may not begin to take down their exhibit until 3pm.

  • Exhibitors must have their space dismantled no later than 4pm.

  • Event management and their agent affiliates will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items.

  • Event management has the right to close the event early in the case of inclement weather.

  • Exhibitors are NOT permitted to leave early unless directed by the event management.

  • Electricity will NOT be provided. Generators are permitted.

  • Exhibitors are responsible for providing a plentiful exhibit to maintain traffic throughout the event and draw traffic to individual exhibit area.

  • Event management has the right to remove materials that are not acceptable. 

  • Event management has the right to use the exhibitor’s logo in promotional materials and photos of exhibitors taken on-site in future event promotion.

Release

The Exhibitor, shall indemnify, defend and hold Alexandria Love Your Pet Day, and their affiliates, partners, officers, members, shareholders, trustees, principals, agents, property managers, employees and any mortgagee or any beneficiary of or holder of a deed of trust (collectively, the “Indemnitees”), harmless from and against all liabilities, obligations, damages, penalties, claims, costs, charges and expenses, including, without limitation, reasonable attorney’s fees, which may be imposed upon, incurred by or asserted against any of the Indemnitees, and which arise out of or in connection with the Events, including any and all actions by Exhibitor, its agents, servants, employees, invitees, and/or contractors while at the block party event. In case any action or proceeding is brought against any of the Indemnitees by reason of any of the foregoing, Exhibitor shall, at Exhibitor’s sole cost and expense, resist or defend such action or proceeding by counsel approved by Owner. Exhibitor waives any claim against the Owner for any injury to or death of Exhibitor or any of Exhibitor’s servants, employees, agents, exhibitors, concessionaires or contractors and for the damage to or destruction of any of Exhibitor’s property or the property of any of Exhibitor’s servants, employees, agents, exhibitors, concessionaires or contractors arising directly or indirectly out of Exhibitor’s performance of services pursuant to this Agreement.
