The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria’s Paws in the Park brings together thousands of animal-lovers and their families for a super fun community event with delicious local food and drink, entertainment, an interactive Family Fun Tent and of course, Rescue Row featuring many of the area’s animal rescue groups and their adoptable animals.

Sponsorship of AWLA’s Paws in the Park not only provides businesses with access to AWLA’s 40,000+ loyal fans and supporters, it also helps fund one of the hardest working animal welfare nonprofits in the country.

In addition, in 2024, Paws in the Park was featured in The Zebra, Alexandria Times, Alexandria Gazette, Old Town Crier, Alexandria Living Magazine, The Patch, Northern Virginia Magazine and VIP Alexandria Magazine. The park is just as integral as the paws! Beautiful Oronoco Bay Park is the perfect home for Paws in the Park. It offers plenty of green space for our vendors, adoptable animals, and guests to enjoy a gorgeous waterfront day while in the company of animal-loving friends. The Park sponsor is integral in allowing us to fence in the whole park so that humans can roam freely with their libations.

A prominent and popular entertainment spot at Paws in the Park, the Family Fun Tent give your company an opportunity to connect with lots of animal-loving families as they create crafts, make dog/cat toys and work on other projects for our shelter animals and their own pets.

Rescue Row provides AWLA and your company an opportunity to bring together local rescue organizations to promote the adoption of our area’s neediest and most adorable adoptable animals. This area of Paws in the Park is popular with those looking to adopt and alumni of the rescue organizations.

The pet and human costume contest is arguably one of the most fun — and funniest — highlights of Paws in the Park! Three costume categories encourage lots of participation and creativity. As the sponsor, you have the chance to run the show, help choose winners, and award prizes.
